Born in Derbyshire in 1968, the writer of this blog enjoyed a lot of freedom as a child and spent a lot of time cycling, horse riding and exploring nature. She moved with her family to Singapore in 1981, a kaleidoscopic experience that altered all her perspectives. She returned to England without her parents when she was 15 years old and took her A Levels at boarding school. She studied music at University as an undergraduate and later as a postgraduate mature student, graduating with a Master of Music in 2002. For her Masters degree she gave a vocal recital and wrote a dissertation about works by Michael Tippett and Benjamin Britten from a Jungian perspective. She has three sons and was divorced in 2008. She is due to remarry soon.
