'Owl pellets consist of things like the bones of birds, mammals and fish, teeth claws and beaks, insect head parts and wing cases, seed husks etc. These are usually enclosed by softer material like fur, feathers and vegetable fibre.'
'Regurgitating a pellet is a voluntary act on the owl's part and in the wild most birds will produce one prior to leaving the roost for hunting. Often, another smaller pellet will be produced during the night before the second main period of hunting around dawn. The size, shape and appearance of the pellet is normally characteristic of the owl species, certainly among British owls.'
Night Owl's pellets will contain the voluntarily regurgitated remains of things she has consumed and will be in a form unique to her species. Night Owl will drop her pellets from her roost into the blog where others can find and examine the imperishable remnants of the wonderful things that Night Owl has consumed.
